Overview of the Annapurna Hiking and Biking Trek
Our journey to Annapurna begins in the city of temples in the Kathmandu Valley. We prepare our bikes, load them into jeeps, and directly reach Besisahar, 2,493 meters above sea level, to embark on our journey. Our team will inform you about the Annapurna region for a better experience while we roll our tires through suspension bridges or rocky terrain. Slowly, we head to Manang, a place nested at the heart of the Annapurna region. We Acclimatize on Manang for your trek to higher altitudes.
Thorong La Pass (5416 m) is the highest altitude we ride our bikes. Reaching Thorong La on your bike is not a small thing but is once lifetime achievement.
During the high altitude, it’s up to the trekkers whether they want to hike up to the top or ride their bikes. For the wellbeing of our trekkers, our guide will always be there to look after you and help you glide through the problems. Coming down from Thorong La, we head to Muktinath Temple to gather prayers and forgive our sins. Adding up, we take a natural hot spring bath at Tatopani, appreciating the view of neighboring Himalayan peaks. At last, we finish our journey with a sip of tea at the lakeside of Pokhara.
The best time to visit Annapurna
Annapurna region can be trekked all year round, but the spring season during the months from March to May and the autumn season during the months from September to November are the most preferable. Because the clear view of mountains and temperate temperature eases you throughout the trek. Around September to November, a common and biggest festival all around Nepal called Dashain and Tihar is also celebrated by the locals in the Annapurna region.
For those who seek fewer people during their trek, they can pack their bags at the start of November-December. The temperature is cool in the afternoon which could be beneficial while you hike. So, cape up yourself, though; temperatures are cold by day and below freezing at night. Snow often blocks Thorong La causing delays during the trek in the winter season.
