Overview of the Muktinath Jeep Tour via Jomsom Itinerary
Our Jeep tour to Muktinath Jomsom with Dumba Lake begins with a drive or a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Today we are staying in the most beautiful city of Nepal, Pokhara. If you want to do side activities like paragliding in Pokhara, then we can add them to your itinerary. The very next day, we drive from Pokhara to Lete via Tatopani, where we get a near-exposure to the Annapurna Massif. The third day is the major day for this tour. We drive from Lete to Muktinath, where we visit the popular stone streets and apple farms in Marpha, a windy mountain town, and view the Kali Gandaki Valley in Jomsom and other places.
Our ultimate stop is Muktinath, a sacred temple to both Hindus and Buddhists with 108 holy taps at a height of 3,800 meters. We can see many pilgrims worshipping the temple, and there are also many people bathing under 108 taps. Locals and many devotees deeply believe that bathing under all 108 sacred taps at Muktinath washes away one’s sins and past misdeeds, offering them relief and inner peace.
The next day, we go to Dhumba Lake in Jomsom. This quiet place is perfect for people who enjoy peace and meditation, with mountain views from the water. After that, we drive down to Tatopani on the following day. On the final day of the tour, we return to Kathmandu from Kushma. If you want to try something extra, doing bungee jumping in Kushma can be a daring and fun option.

Current Road Condition to Muktinath by Jeep
Until a few years ago, the condition of the road from Tatopani to Jomsom and Muktinath was quite difficult. Both trekkers and drivers had a tough time during the journey, as there were bumpy roads, landslides sometimes blocked the road, and narrow trails, especially near Ghasa and Marpha. But with time, we have seen a major change in the road condition, mainly after 2024. Many bumpy parts have been fixed, and from Jomsom to Muktinath, the road is paved. If you are traveling during monsoon, a 4WD jeep is a must for a smooth trip. So, yes, the road has improved and is far safer than compared to previous years. Overall, the condition of the road for the Jomsom Muktinath Jeep tour is much better.
Best Time to Visit Jomsom Muktinath by Jeep
