Kali Gandaki River is named after Hindu Goddesses, Kali and this holy river separates two huge Himalayas of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri taking you through the deepest river gorge in the world. As this river flows between two Himalayan giants, we experience the best of river adventures during three days of rafting at Kali Gandaki River. During the main tourist season of autumn and spring, Kali Gandaki River offers ideal rapids of grades 3 and 4 which is suitable for every beginner as well as experienced paddlers.

We initiate 3 days of Kali Gandaki River Rafting adventure after we drive from Kathmandu to Nayapul which is also the put-in point. And we enjoy a rafting trip of around 56 km till Mirmi dam which is the endpoint. Everyone finds this diverse rafting trip very enjoyable as there are plenty of scenery, views, waterfalls while paddling down the river. Kali Gandaki River Rafting Itinerary

  • Day 1 Kathmandu - Pokhara - Maldhunga
    • Highlights :

      Early morning after breakfast, we will  drive towards Pokhara and  to Maldhunga from Pokhara.

      Before we hit the raft, the rafting equipments are prepares with the help of our professional guides and they will brief you about the raft and safety measures.

      We will hit the Big Brother, Small Brother and many other rapids today. Our camp site for the first day will be at Modhi Khola. 

     

  • Day 2 Rafting - Purti Ghat
    • Highlights :

      » After a heartwarming breakfast, we float down the river. We will tackle the Good Morning rapid and some class 3 and 4 rapids while witnessing the breathtaking view of the Himalayas and waterfalls before reaching Purti Ghat, the campsite for the day.
       

     

  • Day 3 Rafting towards Setibeni and Drive back to Pokhara
    • Highlights :

      »

      We will raft towards Setibeni today and as usual we hit small rapids today. Paddling around the Setibeni, we will see some black rocks called Shaligram which are worshipped by the Hindus as the manifestations of Lord Vishnu.  We continue to raft until we reach our take out point, i.e. Mirmi. From there we head back to Pokhara by bus which takes about five hours.

Types of food provided:

Throughout our expedition, we provide treated stream water for drinking. We employ crews with great culinary abilities and provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the expedition in a buffet style. So, yes you have the freedom to choose what you like. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know about them at the time of booking, so that we can arrange accordingly. 

Sample menu for the expedition

Breakfast: Tea, Coffee, White chocolate, Muesli and Cornflakes, Yogurt. Eggs, Toast, Hashed potatoes, Pancakes, Porridge, etc.
Lunch: Bread, Cheese, Salami, Tuna, Sardines, Baked beans, Salads, Fresh fruits, and Biscuits
Dinner: Pasta, French fries, Curries, Steamed or Fried vegetables. We may provide Nepali Dal, Bhat in rotation for longer trips.

Cost Excludes

  • Visas, flights, other taxes, etc.
  • Personal items like toiletries, clothing, camera, etc.
  • Alcohol and other packed food.
  • Insurance policy: paddlers need to have their own insurance since we only provide insurance to our crew.
  • Tips for guides – we pay our guides and porters fairly but if you want you can tip them personally.
