Ramesh originates from Baseri VDC Dhading District at Manaslu region of Nepal. Growing up around the local community villages, he belongs from a family with a farming background. There was a childhood dream and passion towards trekking adventures as he used to see tourists visiting around his hometown. Back then he didn’t know much about the tourism industry, but as the dream goes bigger, he turned his passion in the profession and decided to do something in the tourism industry. In the course, he moved to Kathmandu and started a career as a porter in a camping trek in 1997. Then transformed into an assistant cook, assistant guide and finally, government registered trekking guide. His down to earth with friendly nature is always loved by everyone around him and he always loves to provide updated factual information to his friends, clients. Currently, he is the owner of Hotel Horizon and involved in the hotel business to looking forward to uplifting the tourism sector in all possible ways.
He has been much of a social activist and keeps busy himself by concentrating on how to make a positive impact on nature, culture and society. He does possess the leadership qualities in him and now he is chairman of Nepal Mountain Trekkers Company. He believes that honesty is the best policy and anticipates the same from his team. He is proficient in organizing his staff, team members and managing the overall administration work. With his quick decision-making ability and knowledge of human resource management, he and his NMT team are actively involved in social work activities to empower the Nepalese tourism industry. NMT team had made a positive impact on bringing positive change in the life of earthquake victims. NMT is a profit-oriented trekking company in Nepal, but the major focus has been being socially responsible and actively dedicating the team efforts in making this world better place to live through our eco-tourism and sustainable tourism policies.
He completed his degree after graduating in tourism faculty from Tribhuwan University. He has been to most of the trekking sites of Nepal along with a visit to Tibet, India, China and Schengen countries like Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy and Netherlands. Along with Nepali, he is fluent in several foreign languages like English, Hindi, Italian, Chinese and more than 20 other local languages. He has also participated in various international events & exhibition including a conference at Berlin, Germany and also other events such as Swiss Alpine Club, French Ski Team campaign and others.
He holds decades of experience in organizing holidays from individual trips to groups, from mid-level to VIPs, family trips with a 3-year-old kid to 75 years elderly, from trekking to expeditions, from day hiking tours to pilgrimage tours, from rock climbing to peak climbing above 7500m peaks. During all these years of experience, he has earned trust, respect and made friends from all over the world trying continuously to delight his clients. Although being the boss of the business, he is much like a leader and inspirational figure to his staffs and everyone loves to work with him.
