Overview
Our Horse-riding trek to Annapurna commences from the capital Kathmandu Valley. We prepare ourselves for the trek and directly reach Besisahar 2,493 meters above sea level, to embark our journey. Our riding team will instruct you with briefing and instructions regarding the horse ride, controlling the horse, gestures, and so on. We will gear up for horse riding in Dharapani, and began our journey in the land of Himalayan range. Firstly, we head to Manang, a place nested amid of Annapurna range. We Acclimatize on Manang for your trek to higher altitude.
Thorong La Pass (5416 m) is the highest altitude we ride our horse. Thorong La itself is actual a rigid pass to reach. So, if the pathway gets slippery, then you indeed have to hike for safety resolve of both you and the horse.
Coming down we head to Muktinath Temple, for gathering our prayers and meditate our sole. With the elevation of 3,800m above sea level, Muktinath temple is very popular among Hindu devotees. As for the weather around Jomsom, we highly recommend the trekkers to reach there before noon, since afternoon it gets extremely windy and dusty as it is one of dry land in Nepal. At the end of our trek, we leave our horse over Jomsom and get flight/drive to Kathmandu city. If you are willing to do more, you can modify your itinerary. Best time for horse riding at the Annapurna
The Annapurna can be trekked all year round but monsoon can be troublesome due heavy rain. Spring season i.e., March to May and Autumn season i.e., September to late November is best for the horse ride. The view of mountains is visible clearly and temperature remaining calmer than usual.
For those who seek less people during their ride, they can pack their bags at the start of November-December. The temperature is cool at afternoon which could be gentle while you ride your horse. So, wrap up yourself, nonetheless; temperatures are cold by day and below freezing at night. Snow often blocks Thorong La causing delay thru the trek in winter season.
