About Annapurna region

Annapurna is a dream-come-true journey for mountain admirers. Annapurna is a place known for its natural living beauty. A place nestled amid the tall, snow-capped mountains helps you relax your emotions and physical body.

The living diversity of the Annapurna region is equally reflected in its cultural diversity. The locals, residing in different ethnicities, religions, and cultures, are always ready to welcome you with a polite namaste as a symbol of respect. One of Nepal’s native ethnic groups, i.e., Tamang, Gurung, Magar, and Thakali people, reside in this region. Festivals like Tamu Loshar and Sonam Lhosar are celebrated as the New Year for Gurung and Tamang people.

The flora and fauna add up to make a beautiful place for visitors to express their inner selves. Annapurna Conservation Area is full of Wildlife, Vegetation, and Natural Beauty. As we cycle inside the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP), we are required to have a permit. Snow leopards and red pandas are the rare animals found in this region. With different elevations, various vegetation, i.e., deciduous, alpine, and tropical forests, are embedded in this region. The highest recorded flowing plant is also found in the Annapurna region. If you want to do a Rhododendron trek in Nepal, the Annapurna region can be a flawless destination.

For new hikers or experienced bikers, Annapurna always has something new to surprise you with. Whether it’s your first time traveling or the last, the mountains, George, and the picture-perfect places never make you feel enough in this place.

Overview of the Annapurna Mountain Bike Tour

Our journey to Annapurna begins in the city of temples in the Kathmandu Valley. We prepare our bikes, load them into jeeps, and directly reach Besisahar, 2,493 meters above sea level, to embark on our journey. Our team will inform you about the Annapurna region for a better experience while we roll our tires through suspension bridges and rocky terrains. Slowly, we head to Manang, a place situated in the heart of the Annapurna region. We stay in Manang for our trek to higher altitudes.

Thorong La Pass (5416 m) is the highest altitude we ride our bikes. Reaching Thorong La on your bike is not a small thing, but it is a lifetime achievement.

At high altitude, it’s up to the trekkers whether they want to hike up to the top or ride their bikes. For the well-being of our trekkers, our guide will always be there to look after you and help you glide through the problems. Coming down from Thorong La, we head to Muktinath Temple to gather prayers and forgive our sins. Adding up, we take a natural hot spring bath at Tatopani, appreciating the view of neighboring Himalayan peaks.  Finally, we finish our journey with a sip of tea at the lakeside of Pokhara.

The best time for Mountain Bike Tour in Annapurna region

The Annapurna region can be trekked all year-round, but spring, during the months from March to May, and autumn, during the months from September to November, are the most preferred. Because the clear view of the mountains and temperate temperature eases you throughout the trek. From September to November, a common and biggest festival all around Nepal, called Dashain and Tihar, is also celebrated by the locals in the Annapurna region.

For those who seek fewer people during their ride, they can gear up at the start of November or December. The temperature is cool in the afternoon, which could be beneficial while you hike. So, cape up yourself, though; temperatures are cold by day and below freezing at night. Snow often blocks Thorong La, causing delays during the trek in winter.
