The Everest Base Camp Heli Shuttle Trek commences as a regular EBC Trek by boarding a flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla from Kathmandu. During our journey from Lukla to EBC, we will get amazing views of the world’s highest peak Everest along with Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Along with views, the Everest base camp trek is an opportunity to explore the culture and traditions of local Sherpas, the unsung heroes of Everest. From visiting local Buddhist monasteries and Chortens to spotting Himalayan flora and fauna, we get the chance to follow the steps of the great Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953.
Trekking up to Everest Base Camp: The first-half of EBC Heli Shuttle Trek
After we make it to our destination, Everest Base Camp, it will be a remarkable experience of a lifetime in itself. However, the journey is not over yet and the adrenaline and unique sensation of the helicopter ride is still waiting for the trekkers at Gorak Shep, where the journey of the first half of this trek ends.
Helicopter ride back from Gorak Shep: Second half of Everest Heli Shuttle Trek
You will hike up to Kala Patthar the very next day for the closest view of the Everest ranges since Kala Patthar is considered one of the finest viewpoints of Mt. Everest. And afterward, you will descend towards Gorak Shep again where the Helicopter would be waiting for you.
Enjoying the view of a snow-clad mountain from Heli with the sensation of almost being on the mountains and touching them, your helicopter will take you to Lukla airport. From Lukla, you will fly back to Kathmandu on a regular flight and end the tour with unforgettable memories and experiences during the trek.
Weather and Best Time for EBC Heli Trek
The weather in Nepal is defined by the main seasons. The dry season runs from October to May and this is the best time to visit.
During the dry season, many people choose to visit during the post-monsoon season, which runs from October to December when they can enjoy clear skies and incredible views of the snow-topped mountains, as well as blossoms of herbs and vegetation including rhododendron and pine. The pre-monsoon season runs from March to April is the most popular time for climbing Everest, so base camp will be buzzing with activity.
