Are you planning to travel to Nepal? We got good news for you

Love traveling? Want to travel to Nepal but had to postpone or cancel the plan because of Covid and travel restrictions? Well, there’s some good news for you. As per the latest information from the Government of Nepal on March 10, 2022, all the prevailing rules and restriction for traveling in Nepal has been withdrawn. Now all international travelers could receive an on-arrival VISA without having to stay in the previously required mandatory quarantine. The only thing to be considered is the negative PCR Test Report (regardless of their vaccination status).

As per the latest amendment, the decision of the Government (Council of Ministers) regarding the travelers entering Nepal by either air route or land route ought to consider the following guidelines:

  • Passengers entering Nepal from abroad by air or land must submit a certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19. Passengers who fail to submit such certificates will have to submit the certificate with a negative report of the COVID-19 test (RTPCR, True NAAT, Gene Xpert) within 72 hours of starting the journey.
  • For the passengers going to other countries by air route from Nepal, the concerned airlines have to inform their passengers about the health protocols related to COVID-19 of the destination country. The health-related documents to be submitted by the passengers departing from Nepal will be as per the health-related criteria of the destination country as prescribed by the concerned airlines.
  • Previously issued departmental notices regarding COVID-19 have been revoked.

Other than that, the lives of people in Nepal are also back to normal with no restriction that almost ruined the freedom to live for more than 2 years. However, some basic precautionary measures are still in practice and must be done in order to prevent the nation, or say the whole world from further infection. They include the use of masks, sanitizers, and so on.

With the announcement of this newly amended information regarding travelers, there is a light of hope for the tourism industry of Nepal. Tourism entrepreneurs in Nepal have been waiting for this for a long time so that the operation of trekking, tours, and expedition could be eased and the tourists shall visit Nepal without having to think about quarantine and the expenses (monetary as well as the number of days).
